Every successful coaching practice begins at the intersection of three critical elements: what you are genuinely passionate about, where you have demonstrable expertise, and what the market is willing to pay for. This intersection is your Profitable Niche Zone. Most struggling coaches fail because they operate in only one or two of these areas — they coach on their passion without market validation, or they follow market demand without personal expertise or enthusiasm.
Today, conduct an honest assessment of where your practice currently stands. Document your total revenue for the past 12 months, your current client count, your average client value, and how many clients came from each lead source. This baseline becomes your benchmark for measuring growth.
Then, list every topic you could credibly coach on. Rate each on a scale of 1-10 for passion (how energized you feel discussing it), expertise (your depth of knowledge and results), and market demand (evidence that people pay to solve this problem). The topics scoring highest across all three dimensions become your shortlist for niche selection.
