Concept
Day 4 moves from market analysis to individual understanding. You will create detailed profiles of your three most valuable member types—not demographics on a whiteboard, but real people with names, jobs, schedules, fears, and desires. Member A is 'Stressed Sarah,' a 38-year-old marketing director with two kids, lower back pain from sitting, $180 monthly wellness budget, who comes to class because her therapist recommended it. She needs early morning classes, childcare would be transformative, and she stays when her pain decreases. Member B is 'Performance Paul,' a 32-year-old weekend warrior training for triathlons, who sees Pilates as injury prevention and cross-training. He wants metrics, progressive difficulty, and recognition for achievement. Member C is 'Spiritual Sue,' a 55-year-old recent empty-nester deepening her yoga practice, interested in teacher training, workshops, and community. She stays for connection and meaning, not physical results. Each avatar gets a full page: demographics, psychographics, buying triggers, objections, where they spend time online, what they value most, what would make them leave, and what would make them refer friends. These avatars are not theoretical exercises; they become the filter through which every marketing message, class offering, and pricing decision is evaluated. When you later write an Instagram caption, you write to Sarah, Paul, or Sue—not to 'our members.'
Key Takeaway: Vague marketing to everyone reaches no one. Specific member avatars make every message feel personal and every offer feel designed for them.
