Introduction
**Premium Script Collection | 25+ Scenarios**
**Includes: Customer objections, employee resistance, vendor negotiation, and more**
SECTION 1: Customer Price Objections (1-5)
1. "That seems expensive."
Script: "I understand. Here is the thing — our [item] uses [premium ingredient] and is made fresh to order. That costs a bit more, but most of our customers tell us the quality is worth it. If you want to try something similar at a lower price point, our [alternative item] is excellent and $[X] less."
2. "I can get this cheaper at [competitor]."
Script: "You absolutely can, and I respect that. The difference is [specific quality point — fresh vs. frozen, larger portion, better ingredients]. A lot of our customers used to go to [competitor] and now come here because when you factor in quality and satisfaction, the extra $[X] pays for itself. Want to give it a try? If you are not satisfied, I will make it right."
3. "Why did your prices go up?"
Script: "Great question. Our ingredient costs have increased [X]% this year, and rather than compromise on quality by switching to cheaper products, we adjusted our pricing slightly. We are committed to maintaining the same quality you expect. I appreciate your understanding."
4. "Do you have any discounts or coupons?"
Script: "Our best deal is actually our combo — you save $[X] versus ordering items separately. Also, if you download our loyalty app, you get a free [item] on your first order and earn points toward free food on every visit. Would you like me to help you sign up?"
5. "I only have $[X]."
Script: "No problem at all. For $[X], you can get our [value item] which is really popular. It comes with [description]. Would that work for you today?"
SECTION 2: Customer Service Objections (6-10)
6. "My order was wrong last time."
Script: "I am truly sorry about that. That is not the experience we want you to have. I am going to personally make sure your order is perfect today. Let me repeat it back to you before we start. And I am including a [comp item] for your patience. Thank you for giving us another chance."
7. "The wait was too long."
Script: "I sincerely apologize for the wait. We got busier than expected and we are working to get back on track. Your order is my priority right now. Can I offer you a complimentary drink while you wait?"
8. "My food was cold last time."
Script: "That is completely unacceptable, and I am sorry. We have a temperature standard and we clearly missed it. Today, I am making sure your food comes out fresh and hot. If it is not, I want you to tell me immediately and I will remake it myself."
9. "The portion seemed smaller."
Script: "I appreciate you telling me. Our portions are based on [weight/count] and should be consistent. Let me check with the kitchen to make sure we are hitting our specs. In the meantime, I am going to add a little extra to your order today."
10. "I had a bad experience before."
Script: "I am so sorry to hear that. As the [owner/manager], I take that personally. I would love the chance to earn back your trust. What happened? [Listen] Here is what I am going to do to make it right: [specific action]. And I am giving you my card — if anything is not perfect today, you call me directly."
SECTION 3: Customer Hesitation (11-15)
11. "I have never tried you before."
Script: "Welcome! What do you usually like? [Listen] Based on that, I would recommend our [item]. It is our most popular and if you do not love it, I will replace it with something else on the house. Want to give it a try?"
12. "I am not sure what to get."
Script: "No problem! Are you in the mood for something classic or adventurous? [Listen] Our [item] is our signature — it is what we are known for. Or if you want something lighter, our [item] is really popular. Which sounds better?"
13. "I am trying to eat healthier."
Script: "We have several great options for that. Our [bowl/salad] is only [X] calories and really filling. Or you can get any of our proteins with a side salad instead of fries. Would you like me to walk you through the lighter options?"
14. "I have food allergies."
Script: "We take allergies very seriously. Let me get our allergen chart so we can go through this together. Which allergens do you need to avoid? [Listen] Based on that, here are the safe options... And I will make sure the kitchen knows this is an allergy order."
15. "I am in a hurry."
Script: "I got you. Our fastest items are [X], [Y], and [Z]. [X] is ready in about 90 seconds. Want to go with that?"
SECTION 4: Employee Resistance (16-20)
16. "I do not want to upsell. It feels pushy."
Script: "I understand how you feel. But here is the thing — upselling is not about pushing things people do not want. It is about making sure they get the complete experience. When someone orders a burger without fries, they are going to be hungry in an hour. When you suggest the combo, you are helping them. Plus, every combo you sell gets us closer to our team bonus. Let me show you how I do it..."
17. "The new system is too complicated."
Script: "Change is hard, I get it. But this system is going to make your job easier once you learn it. Let me sit with you for 15 minutes and walk through it. And here is the manual — it has screenshots for every step. What is the hardest part for you right now?"
18. "I do not have time for extra tasks."
**Script": "I hear you. Let us look at your shift together. What takes the most time? [Listen] Let us prioritize — these three tasks are non-negotiable. The rest can wait if we are slammed. And if you are consistently overwhelmed, we need to adjust the schedule. I would rather add 30 minutes to your shift than have you stressed."
19. "Why do we need to change what we are doing?"
Script: "Great question. The numbers show [specific data — food cost too high, complaints up, etc.]. This change addresses that by [specific outcome]. It will take 2 weeks to feel natural, but then it is just how we do things. I went through the same thing at my last restaurant. Trust me, it works."
20. "I am thinking about leaving."
**Script": "I am sorry to hear that. You are a valued member of this team and I want to understand what is going on. Is it something here we can fix? [Listen] Here is what I can do: [specific action]. What do you need from me to make this work?"
SECTION 5: Vendor Negotiation (21-23)
21. "We cannot lower our price."
Script: "I understand your position. Here is mine — I have a quote from [competitor] at $[X], which is $[Y] less than your current price. I value our relationship and your reliability, but I have a business to run. Can you match $[X], or should I start transitioning that category?"
22. "Our minimum order is $[X]."
Script: "I understand minimums. Here is the challenge — my weekly need is $[Y]. If I commit to ordering $[Y] every week for 6 months, can you waive the minimum or meet me halfway at $[Z]?"
23. "Payment terms are net 7."
Script: "Net 7 creates a cash flow challenge for us. Every other vendor we work with offers net 14 or net 30. If you can match net 14, I can increase my order volume by 20%. Is that something we can work out?"
SECTION 6: Landlord/Real Estate (24-25)
24. "The rent is going up 10%."
Script: "I understand costs increase. A 10% increase is $[X] per month, which significantly impacts our margins. We have been a reliable tenant for [X] years with no late payments. Can we split the difference at 5%? And I would be willing to sign a 3-year extension in exchange."
25. "We need a personal guarantee."
Script: "I am willing to provide a limited personal guarantee capped at $[X] and declining by 20% per year as the business proves itself. After 5 years, the guarantee expires entirely. This protects both of us — you have security upfront, and I am incented to build a successful long-term tenant."
SECTION 7: Bonus Scripts (26-30)
26. Bank Loan Application
"We are a profitable QSR concept with [X] years of operating history. Our unit economics are strong — [X]% food cost, [X]% labor cost, [X]% net margin. We are seeking $[X] to [purpose]. Our projections show [X]% revenue growth and loan coverage ratio of [X]:1."
27. Hiring Pitch to Prospective Employee
"We are not just hiring for a job. We are building a team. Our top performers earn $[X]/hour with bonuses, and 3 of our 5 managers started as crew. If you work hard and care about quality, there is real growth here."
28. Responding to a Negative Online Review
"[Name], we sincerely apologize. This is not the experience we want for any guest. As the owner, I would like to make this right personally. Please call me at [number] or email [email]. We would love the chance to earn back your trust."
29. Pitching Catering to a Business
"We specialize in corporate lunch catering with delivery. I would love to bring a free sample box for your team. If you like it, we offer corporate accounts with 10% off and flexible delivery. Can I stop by Tuesday or Wednesday?"
30. Investor Pitch
"We operate [X] QSR locations generating $[X] in annual revenue with [X]% net margins. Our concept has proven unit economics, documented systems, and a pipeline of [X] additional locations. We are raising $[X] to fund expansion with projected [X]x return over 5 years."
