Introduction

Section 1: Consultation Scripts

1.1 Discovery Consultation Script (Private Training)

OPENING — Rapport Building (5 minutes)

"Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me today. Before we dive into what is going on, tell me a little about [Dog's Name]. How old are they, what breed, and what do you absolutely love most about them?"

[Listen actively. Take notes. Ask follow-up about their daily routine, household, and lifestyle.]

"It sounds like [Dog's Name] is a wonderful addition to your family. Let's talk about what brought you here today. When did you first notice [behavior] becoming a problem?"

DIAGNOSIS — Problem Exploration (15-20 minutes)

"Help me understand exactly what happens. Walk me through a typical episode — from the moment before the behavior starts to when it ends. What does [Dog's Name] do first? What happens next?"

"What have you already tried to address this? How did that work out?"

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how much is this behavior impacting your daily life? Your relationship with [Dog's Name]? Your stress level?"

"If we could wave a magic wand and this behavior were completely resolved, what would be different in your life?"

"Have you worked with a trainer before? What was that experience like?"

EDUCATION — Brief Expert Input (5-10 minutes)

"Based on everything you have shared, here is what I think is happening. [Explain the behavior in scientific but accessible terms]. The good news is that this is one of the most [treatable/common/addressable] challenges we work with. What makes the difference is having a structured protocol and consistent implementation."

RECOMMENDATION — Solution Presentation (10 minutes)

"Here is what I recommend. Our [Program Name] is specifically designed for [description of their situation]. It includes [list key features tied to their stated needs]. This program typically produces [specific outcome] within [timeframe]."

"The investment for the complete program is $[price]. That includes [recap inclusions]. Based on what you shared about [specific impact], I believe this program will give you [specific transformation]."

CLOSE — Next Steps (5 minutes)

"What questions do you have about the program?"

[Answer questions. If ready to proceed:] "Great! Let's get you enrolled. I can take a deposit today of $[amount] to hold your spot, and we will schedule your first session for [timeframe]."

[If not ready:] "I completely understand this is a significant decision. I will send you a summary of everything we discussed today, including the program details and pricing. When would be a good time for me to follow up with you?"

1.2 Phone Inquiry Response Script

When someone calls or emails asking about your services:

"Thank you so much for reaching out! I would love to help you and [Dog's Name]. To make sure I recommend the right program, can you tell me a little about what is going on?"

[Listen and take notes.]

"Based on what you have shared, it sounds like [Program Name] would be the best fit. This is a [description] program that addresses exactly what you are experiencing. The investment is $[price]."

"The next step is to schedule a consultation where we can dive deeper into [Dog's Name]'s specific situation and make sure this is the right program. I have availability on [day] at [time] or [day] at [time]. Which works better for you?"

[If they hesitate on price:] "I completely understand this is an investment. Many of our clients felt the same way initially and told us afterward that the results were worth significantly more than the cost. Would it help to talk through a payment plan option?"

1.3 Board-and-Train Consultation Script

OPENING

"Thank you for considering our board-and-train program for [Dog's Name]. This is a significant decision, and I want to make sure you have all the information you need. Tell me about your dog and what led you to explore board-and-train."

PROGRAM EXPLANATION

"Here is exactly what happens during a [duration]-day stay with us. On day one, we conduct a comprehensive behavioral assessment. We establish a daily routine that includes [number] training sessions per day, structured exercise, mental enrichment, and rest. Each training session is documented, and you receive [video updates/photos] [frequency]."

"The curriculum is customized for [Dog's Name] based on our assessment. We focus on [specific skills tied to their needs]. By day [number], we begin proofing behaviors in real-world environments."

"The go-home session is the most important part of the program. We spend [duration] with you teaching you everything [Dog's Name] has learned and how to maintain it. You also receive a detailed transition guide and [number] follow-up sessions."

PRICING

"Our [Program Tier] is $[price] for [duration] days. That includes [list inclusions]. The investment reflects the intensive, individualized attention your dog receives during their stay. We accept a [percentage] deposit to reserve the spot, with the balance due at drop-off."

OBJECTION HANDLING

"I need to think about it." — "Absolutely. This is a big decision. To help you, what specific concerns do you have? I want to make sure you have everything you need."

"That is more than I expected." — "I understand. Many of our clients felt that way initially. When you factor in the [number] hours of professional training, the daily video updates, the go-home session, and the follow-up support, the value is significant. Most clients tell us the peace of mind alone was worth the investment."

"Can my dog visit first?" — "We do not offer trial visits because the transition into our environment is part of the training process. However, I would be happy to give you a virtual tour of our facility and introduce you to our current guests via video."

1.4 Separation Anxiety Consultation Script

OPENING

"I want you to know that separation anxiety is one of the most heartbreaking conditions for dog owners, and you are not alone. I have worked with [number] dogs with separation anxiety, and the vast majority have made significant improvements with the right protocol. Let's talk about what you are experiencing."

ASSESSMENT QUESTIONS

"Describe what happens when you leave [Dog's Name] alone. What do you see or hear?"

"How long can [Dog's Name] currently tolerate being alone before the distress begins?"

"Does the behavior occur when you are home but in another room, or only when you are completely gone?"

"Have you tried any solutions already? Medications, crate training, leaving toys?"

"How is this affecting your daily life? Your work? Your social life?"

"Has your veterinarian been involved? Are you open to discussing medication as part of the treatment?"

PROGRAM PRESENTATION

"Separation anxiety requires a specific, evidence-based approach called systematic desensitization. Our program is delivered remotely via video coaching because the treatment requires observing your dog when they are actually alone — something impossible during in-person sessions."

"The program runs [duration] weeks. Each week includes a [length] video call, a customized daily protocol, daily log review, and unlimited email support. We track progress meticulously and adjust the protocol based on your dog's response."

"The investment is $[price]. Given the severity of what you have described, I would estimate a treatment timeline of approximately [weeks] weeks to reach [specific goal]."

Section 2: Objection Handling Scripts

2.1 Price Objections

"That is too expensive."

"I appreciate you sharing that with me. Can I ask — when you say expensive, are you comparing this to another trainer's price, or is it more about the total amount feeling like a lot right now?"

[If comparing:] "I encourage you to compare what is included. Our program includes [list differentiators]. Many clients come to us after trying a cheaper option that did not work."

[If cash flow:] "We do offer payment plans that break this into [number] monthly payments of $[amount]. Would that make this more manageable?"

"I found someone cheaper."

"I am glad you are doing your research — that is exactly what I would do. As you compare, I encourage you to ask three questions: What certifications and credentials does the trainer have? What is included beyond the sessions themselves? Do they offer a guarantee? Our answers to those questions are [brief answers]."

"I need to talk to my partner."

"Of course — this is a household decision. I will send you a summary of everything we discussed that you can share with your partner. I am also happy to schedule a brief call with both of you if they have questions. Would Tuesday or Thursday evening work?"

2.2 Timing Objections

"I am too busy right now."

"I completely understand — that is actually the #1 reason people wait, and it is also the #1 reason they regret waiting. The daily homework takes just [number] minutes, and our sessions are scheduled at your convenience. What specifically feels overwhelming about your schedule right now?"

"I want to wait until after [event]."

"That makes sense. What I want you to consider is that every week this behavior continues, it becomes more ingrained and harder to change. Starting now with a lighter schedule prevents the problem from getting worse. We can absolutely design a reduced-intensity plan that fits your current situation."

"I want to try [free/cheap option] first."

"I think that is a reasonable approach for basic training. For [specific behavior], though, I have seen too many clients waste months on DIY solutions that do not address the root cause. By the time they come to us, the behavior is significantly worse and more expensive to fix. If you are committed to trying [option] first, I would suggest giving it [timeframe] and then reassessing if you are not seeing meaningful improvement."

2.3 Skepticism Objections

"How do I know this will work?"

"That is the most important question you can ask. Here is what I can tell you: we have worked with [number] dogs with [similar issue], and [percentage] have achieved [specific outcome]. I cannot guarantee your specific results because every dog is different, but I can guarantee our commitment to the process. That is why we offer our [guarantee description]."

"I have tried training before and it did not work."

"I am sorry that was your experience. Can you tell me more about what you tried and what happened? [Listen] It sounds like [analysis of why it failed]. Our approach is different because [specific differentiator]. Many of our best success stories come from clients who had failed with previous trainers."

"Will the results last?"

"The results last as long as you maintain the training — which is why our program includes a detailed maintenance protocol and follow-up support. Think of it like physical therapy: the therapist gets you to a certain point, and then you maintain it with the exercises they teach you. We give you everything you need to maintain the results long-term."
