Introduction

Clozo Academy Premium — 30 Objection Responses + 4 Closing Scripts

OBJECTION 1: "That's too expensive."

Response: "I understand that budget is important. Let me explain what goes into this price. We use [specific premium ingredients], and this cake takes approximately [X] hours from design to delivery. When you factor in delivery, setup, and the peace of mind that it will be perfect, the value becomes clear. Many of our clients initially felt the same way, but after their event, they told us it was the best investment they made."

Alternative: "Let's look at this differently. This cake will be in 40+ photos that you'll treasure for decades. At $[amount], that's less than $[amount] per photo."

OBJECTION 2: "I need to think about it."

Response: "Of course, this is a big decision. I'm holding [date] for you until [time] tomorrow, and I have two other inquiries for that weekend. To help you decide, would it help if I sent a detailed sketch of your design so you can visualize it?"

OBJECTION 3: "I found a cheaper option."

Response: "I completely understand wanting to compare options. May I ask what the price difference is? [Listen] Here's what I can tell you: our price includes [list of inclusions], and we've had [number] customers who tried a cheaper option first and came to us for their next event. I'd hate for you to have that experience. The difference of $[amount] for a once-in-a-lifetime event is often worth the peace of mind."

OBJECTION 4: "Can you do it for [lower price]?"

Response: "I appreciate you asking. Rather than reduce the quality of your cake, let me suggest a couple of options: we could simplify the design slightly to [describe], which would bring the price to $[amount]. Or we could keep your design and I could offer [free delivery/add-on] as my gift to you. Which would work better?"

OBJECTION 5: "I need to check with my partner/parent."

Response: "Absolutely! This is a decision that should be shared. Here's what I suggest: let me send you the proposal and photos from today. When you speak with [partner/parent], they can see exactly what we discussed. I'll hold your date for 48 hours. If they have any questions, I'm happy to speak with them directly."

OBJECTION 6: "I'm not sure about the flavors."

Response: "That's exactly why we do tastings! What you tasted today is exactly what your guests will experience. Which flavor was your favorite? [Listen] Many couples choose different flavors for different tiers—that way guests get variety. Would you like to do a final tasting closer to the date to confirm?"

OBJECTION 7: "What if something goes wrong?"

Response: "That's a very valid concern, and I'm glad you asked. Here's our guarantee: [describe backup plan, emergency contact, replacement policy]. In [X] years, we've never had a cake emergency, but we prepare for every possibility. You'll have my personal cell number, and I'm available [hours]."

OBJECTION 8: "I'm worried about the design."

Response: "Let me show you something. [Pull up portfolio photos of similar styles] This is a cake we made for a similar event last month. I'll also create a detailed sketch of YOUR design within 3 days of booking, and we can revise until you're 100% happy. Nothing gets baked until you approve the design in writing."

OBJECTION 9: "Why do you need a deposit?"

Response: "The deposit does two things: it secures your date exclusively, and it allows me to begin designing your cake and ordering specialty ingredients. I only book [X] events per month, and once I commit to you, I turn away other inquiries for that date. The deposit protects both of us."

OBJECTION 10: "That's more than I budgeted."

Response: "I hear you. Let me ask: what did you have in mind for the cake budget? [Listen] Here's what we can do within that range. We could create a [simpler design] at $[amount], which still gives you a beautiful cake. Or, if the [specific element] is what you love most, we could start there and add on later. What matters most to you?"

OBJECTION 11: "How do I know you'll deliver on time?"

Response: "That's exactly why our reviews mention delivery 47 times with an average 5-star rating. [Show reviews mentioning delivery] We arrive 30-60 minutes before your event, and you'll receive a text when we're 30 minutes away. We deliver to [venue name] [X] times per month and know the venue coordinator."

OBJECTION 12: "Can I get a discount for a weekday/event?"

Response: "I appreciate you asking! Our pricing reflects the time and materials involved regardless of day. However, for [month/off-peak dates], I can offer [specific incentive] as a thank you for booking during that time."

OBJECTION 13: "I saw something similar online for less."

Response: "Online photos can be deceiving—lighting, editing, and angles hide a lot. When you see our work in person, the difference is clear. More importantly, what happens if something goes wrong with an online bakery? We are local, responsive, and accountable. That peace of mind is worth the difference."

OBJECTION 14: "Do you offer payment plans?"

Response: "Yes! Here's how it works: 50% deposit to secure your date, and the remaining 50% is due 2 weeks before your event. If you'd like, we can split the second payment into two smaller payments. Would that help with your cash flow?"

OBJECTION 15: "What if my guest count changes?"

Response: "That's very common! I build in flexibility. We can adjust the size up to 2 weeks before your event with no penalty—just the cost difference. If the count goes down, we can convert extra servings into a complimentary anniversary cake for you. Either way, you'll have exactly what you need."

OBJECTION 16: "I'm not a 'cake person.'"

Response: "That's actually perfect! Most of our clients say that, which is exactly why they hire us. You don't need to be a cake person—you just need to tell me what you love, and I'll translate that into something beautiful. Think of me as your cake translator."

OBJECTION 17: "The other baker includes [item] for free."

Response: "I understand. 'Free' items are built into their base price. I'd rather be transparent about what you're paying for. If [item] is important to you, I can add it for $[amount], or we could include it as a complimentary gesture if you book today."

OBJECTION 18: "I need to lose weight/I'm on a diet."

Response: [For tastings] "This is research for your guests' enjoyment! And the good news is that many of our flavors have lighter options—we use less sugar than traditional recipes, and our fruit-based options are naturally lighter. Let's focus on what your guests will love."

OBJECTION 19: "What if I don't like the final design?"

Response: "That won't happen because we have a built-in approval process. After you book, I create a detailed sketch within 3 days. We revise until you love it. Nothing is baked until you approve the final design in writing. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed."

OBJECTION 20: "Why does it cost so much for just flour and sugar?"

Response: "You're right that the ingredients aren't the expensive part. What you're paying for is my 10+ years of training, the 20+ hours of design and crafting, the specialty tools and equipment, the delivery and setup, and most importantly—the peace of mind that your [event] dessert will be perfect. That's the real value."

OBJECTION 21: "My friend could make it for less."

Response: "That's a wonderful option if your friend has the time, skill, and equipment! Just consider: will they have professional delivery? A backup plan if something goes wrong? Liability insurance? Sometimes saving money costs more in stress. If your friend is a professional baker, absolutely go with them. If not, you might find the peace of mind is worth it."

OBJECTION 22: "I need to book closer to the date."

Response: "I completely understand wanting flexibility. Here's the challenge: I book [X] months in advance for [season], and dates fill up quickly. If you decide closer to your date, I'm happy to check availability, but I can't guarantee it. Would you like me to hold the date with a refundable deposit? That gives you flexibility and secures your spot."

OBJECTION 23: "Why is delivery so expensive?"

Response: "Delivery includes: my time (2-3 hours), vehicle costs, insurance, the specialized transport equipment to keep your cake perfect, and the setup at your venue. I've done [X] deliveries and know the traffic patterns, venue layouts, and exactly how to handle every situation. You're paying for expertise, not just a ride."

OBJECTION 24: "Can you match [competitor's] price?"

Response: "I focus on matching quality and experience, not prices. My pricing reflects [specific differentiators]. If budget is the primary concern, [competitor] might be a better fit. If quality, reliability, and peace of mind matter most, I'm confident I'm the right choice."

OBJECTION 25: "I need to see more examples of your work."

Response: "Absolutely! Let me show you our full portfolio organized by style. [Show portfolio] Here are 15 cakes similar to your vision. I can also connect you with 3 past clients who had similar events—they'd be happy to share their experience. Would you like their contact info?"

OBJECTION 26: "I don't want to commit today."

Response: "I completely understand—this is a big decision. I'm not asking for a lifetime commitment, just to secure your date so I can commit to you. I'll hold [date] for 48 hours, no pressure. After that, I need to open it to other inquiries. Take tonight to think about it, and let me know tomorrow. Fair enough?"

OBJECTION 27: "How do I know you're reliable?"

Response: "Great question. Here are my credentials: [X] years in business, [X] cakes delivered, [X] 5-star reviews, fully licensed and insured, preferred vendor at [venue names]. I can also provide references from recent clients. Would you like me to send those over?"

OBJECTION 28: "The design I want is too complicated."

Response: "No design is too complicated—it's just a matter of time and technique. What you're describing is [assess complexity]. I've done similar work [show example]. The investment would be [amount] because of the [specific techniques] involved. If that exceeds your budget, I can suggest a simplified version that captures the same feeling at [lower amount]."

OBJECTION 29: "I have a gluten allergy in my family."

Response: "We take allergies very seriously. We have a dedicated gluten-free prep area with separate tools and equipment. Your cake can be made entirely gluten-free, or we can do a smaller gluten-free cutting cake alongside the main cake. Let me show you our allergen protocol."

OBJECTION 30: "I'm just shopping around right now."

Response: "I'm so glad you included us in your search! Here's what I'd suggest: visit 2-3 bakeries, compare the experience, the quality, and the value. When you're ready to decide, give me a call. I'll hold your date for 48 hours when you're ready. And here's our tasting box to take home—no obligation. [Hand sample box]"
